As we discussed earlier there are many people who say that
Biblical prophecy is over and done with long ago because there's no mention of
today's modern civilizations. Yet if you
really examine the prophecies you will soon see that the majority of them are
in fact still to come. They may have
already been played out once but with the Bible's penchant for duality we still
have another round, if you will, to go with most of the Bible's prophecies.
We will see the destruction of the Temple, the fall of
Israel and the punishment of Israel's enemies afterwards. All of these things are still sadly, and
frighteningly, still to come. One of our great
difficulties in deciphering Biblical prophecy is that it so often speaks simply
of the people of Israel. Yet 10 of
Israel's tribes are lost and scattered throughout the world. The state of Israel that exists today does
NOT include all of Israel. God promised
Abraham that his descendants would be like the stars of the heavens or grains
of sand on the beach. Even during
Israel's mightiest time as a Kingdom, under King's David and Solomon that
prophecy had not yet been fulfilled.... but has it now?
Many people will tell you they know exactly who the lost
tribes are in today's modern world and many of them will be wrong. It is really impossible to be 100%
certain of their modern identities but there are clues that can lead us to identify
some if not all of the tribes. For
example the Danish people seem, from the prophecies that God gave to Jacob
concerning his children, to be the modern version of the tribe of Dan. Likewise, again using the prophecies in
Genesis, it seems fairly certain that the French, or the Normans at least,
likely descend from Reuben. However to
say that you know exactly who is who in the 21st century is being a little
presumptuous at the very least. After all God said they would be 'lost and would forget their own true identity'.
Two ancient nations which concern the modern world greatly
are Joseph's sons, Ephraim and Manasseh.
They were both included in the ten tribes, taking the place of the tribe
of Dan. Although, again, it must be
stressed that there cannot be 100% certainty it does seem very likely that
those tribes refer to the United Kingdom and the United States. How much of the United Kingdom is included,
given that Britannia once ruled a large part of the earth, is hard to say but
we can probably be fairly sure it includes England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Australia,
New Zealand and maybe Canada.
It is these nations that prophecy gives much attention to
and these nations who will suffer what the Bible terms 'the time of Jacob's
trouble'. The Bible tells us that those two nations, if they ARE two of the Lost Tribes, will be
overtaken by our enemies whom we once considered allies. We will be taken into captivity
and be the victims of a suffering worse than anything, even the Holocaust, that
has ever been experienced on Earth.
It
is a terrifying thought that the UK and the US could be the modern descendants of Ephraim and Manasseh, yet all of the Bible's prophecies point to it being the
truth, a truth we must face. Who will be
our conquerors is less certain other than the fact that they will be nations we
had considered allies. God, however,
does promise protection from this disaster to His people, the current living
Temple made up of people's from all over the world.
It is vitally important that we understand that this WILL
happen. God has proclaimed it and
nothing short of complete and total repentance of every single member of those lost
tribes will avert this prophecy from being played out. As to the timing of these events, that is even trickier. God simply tells us is that 'the generations which sees the beginning will see the
end' but what and how to pinpoint 'the beginning' is harder than it seems.
Jesus, in his Sermon on the Mount, spoke of many
calamities but called them 'the beginning of sorrows' - we today see much of
what Jesus spoke of coming to pass as we watch our evening news. Therefore we may well be the generation to witness the
beginning and the end. I don't know for certain and neither does any other living person know the exact time and date because when Jesus was living as a man on earth He clearly said that 'no one
knows the time, only the Father in Heaven'.
But Jesus also tells us to watch for the signs that we may be prepared.
The time of the end is coming - that is an assurance from
God. But it comes with a promise for a
new world, a new Heaven and a new Earth.
A promise of a time of peace and prosperity when all of humanity will live
eternally in complete and total harmony. A time when our loved ones who have passed will be raised and invited to become a true child of God. Personally, I long for that day, whether it comes in my lifetime or long after I'm gone and dust.
You will have noticed by now that I rarely mention specific chapter and
verse. The reason for this is that I want those of you who read these
messages to search out the truth for yourselves. Do not simply take my word for it because I
can quote a Scripture verse. Read the
prophecies, study and meditate upon them and see if I speak the truth. For while I lay no claim whatsoever to being
a prophet, if I put myself forward to speak with the word of God then my words must be true and it
must be a truth you can find for yourself with the guiding assistance of God's
Holy Spirit.
In love,
Tracey
